Recruit Academy

Recruit Academy Overview

Every Hyalite firefighter starts in the same place: the Hyalite Fire District Recruit Academy. The academy gives new members a strong foundation in the skills they'll use on every call and prepares them to respond safely and effectively from day one.

The Hyalite Fire District Recruit Academy encompasses approximately 250 hours of training across 4 months.  Recruit firefighters are authorized to start responding to emergency calls approximately halfway through the Recruit Academy, at the supervision of other qualified members of the district.
